Jadestar lead the evening hunting patrol through the forest. In the patrol was, Wolfheart, Darkcloud and Rustpaw.

Although the sun shone brilliantly through the trees, the weather was much cooler, and the leaves were beginning to change color. Jadestar knew well enough that leaf-fall was coming, and then another cold and harsh leaf-bare.

As they continued on, Jadestar caught a faint trace of a mouse. She crouched down, and readied herself to pounce. When the mouse came in sight, she jumped, but instead of landing on her feet, she landed on her bad side, and let out a yelp of pain as the mouse disippeared into a bramble bush.

Hawkheart ran over to jadestar and meowed in worry " are you ok?!"

Jadestar managed to haul herself up. "Yes, I'm fine, thanks though."
Her first thought was to go back and lie down in her nest, but instead she shook her pelt and tried to walk. By then she had noticed that the scab where the badger had bit her had opened again, and warm blood stained her pelt.
I'm fine, I'll be ok she told herself, but she couldn't be sure.

Hawkheart spotted that she was bleeding and she meowed "lay down jadestar"

"Lay down jadestar!" she snapped "We need some broom malice poultices to heal your open wound jadestar... Ill go fetch some of that and cobwebs. Keep licking it!" she called Hawkheart ran to were a cowweb was and caried it with her mouth and ran to get some broom malice poultices she found some she picked it up and she ran back over to jadestar and said " this might sting a little bit"

Hawkheart chewed on the broom malice and spit it out in her paw and placed it on jadestars wound and quickly put the cobweb in it's place and hawkheart meowed " u will be ok now she gave jadestar a look" she said don't lick it ok?"
